Thomas Jefferson High School

Denver, CO

"Clearly an exceptional young man to have gained international recognition for his leadership and civic activities at such a young age. His future looks very promising." Clyde E. Proctor, Vice President, Chicago Urban League.

Marcus is a senior honor roll student with a 3.6 GPA at Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver. His leadership is evident in many areas of his interests. He's captain of the football team, class president, school magazine's editor and reporter, and founder and president of Just Say Know, Inc., a program for which he has received international recognition.

Marcus Houston feels a strong responsibility to use his leadership and athletic talents to serve as a role model for urban youth in our community. In addition to speaking in the Netherlands on behalf of Amnesty International Youth Campaign, 17 year old Marcus has created the "Just Say Know" program which challenges middle school students to improve themselves academically and as members of society.
