Leland Stein III

Award-winning journalist/columnist has written for the Chicago Defender, Los
Angeles Sentinel, Michigan Chronicle and Black Voice News among others.
Stein has covered two Olympic Games (Atlanta &Sydney), Super Bowls, NBA
All-Star Weekends & Finals, NCAA Final Four, Rose Bowls, World Series, championship
boxing, tennis and golf. He also writes all the bios for the Watkins Finalist.
He has been published in over 8 national sports magazines, and was appointed
to the United State Olympic Committee.
Stein teaches English and journalism in the Detroit Public Schools, where he
was a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and track). Stien went on to
obtain his undergrduate degree in Engineering from Michigan State University
